Year 2013 was the year the Government established tourism visits. The policy aims to encourage the return of foreign tourists to visit Indonesia, which recently was slightly down due to some unfortunate events that occurred in the country such as natural disasters (tsunamis, earthquakes, floods, etc.) as well as terrorist activities and crime in various areas that often makes people afraid. In the last 5 years, the number of foreign tourists coming to Indonesia, is still around at seven million. This figure is far below Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore and Hong Kong are on average over 10 million annually.
Ironically, bad events in the country has been used as a force neighboring countries in attracting foreign tourists to visit their country, which is reinforced by a massive campaign by their governments. Call it the Tower Petronasnya Malaysia, China introduced the Window of the World, Hong Kong Disneyland with mempercatik and Saigon raise its image as the most romantic city. That's how they promote tourist spots aggressively. What about Indonesia?

1. Indonesia Tourism Promotion
Can be done by getting the cooperation of overseas travel agents, to provide a travel package to Indonesia. Package tours can be made collectively (made up of several people gathered into one) to make a trip to Indonesia. Can also be done with advertising media such as television and newspapers abroad, this has been done by Malaysia and Singapore through the television channels and newspapers in Indonesia
2. Indonesia Tourism Infrastructure Facilities Improvement
We can not turn a blind eye if the infrastructure of tourism in Indonesia is very ugly. Just look at the roads leading to tourist centers, such as the road to Lake Toba in North Sumatra, was woefully inadequate. Similarly, in terms of accommodation such as hotels and tourist vehicles, not quite getting the attention of the government. Many who claim to be a 4-star hotel but did not have the 4-star hotel facilities.
3. Safety Factor
Indonesia recently highlighted by the international community a lot of cases that happened, such as the Bali bombing, riots, strikes, terrorism and so on. Of course this will be very not support our tourism industry, because of course no one wants to visit a country in conflict for excursions.
4. Ease of Handling of Immigration Documents
It should also be noted that during this time there has been corrupt practices enormous processing of immigration documents. Bureaucracy is one of the factors supporting this can happen, it is hoped the government would soon restructure processing of immigration documents this
there are many other things we need to fix. But we must start from the small steps that start is smiling against foreign tourists, give good service and show that our nation is a nation friendly.
Hopefully we can soon tourism industry is thriving and the Visit Indonesia Year 2008 provides a positive development for the betterment of our country's tourism industry ...
